Recreation are a four piece Indie/Pop band which formed in January 2006 with 2 members from Southampton and 2 from neighbouring city Portsmouth. Since recording their demo CD in June 2006 their reputation and popularity have propelled rapidly which has drawn the attention of both local and national radio stations. Recreation have now finally released the much anticipated EP ‘Now or Never’ which is available from their website.

Securing their first gig supporting indie pioneers Inspiral Carpets frontman , Tom Hingley they have also supported many other great acts including the Bluetones, The Hot Puppies & New Rhodes. Recreation are already a favourite band at the legendary Joiners venue in Southampton but have played some other fantastic venues including the Wedgewood Rooms in Portsmouth, The Brook in Southampton, Purple Turtle in Camden & Junction 7 in Nottingham.

Recreation have a hugely diverse repertoire of songs, with a mixture of anthemic epics and catchy melodies which grab your heart and soul. They have been described as fitting between the likes of Coldplay, Snow Patrol, U2, the Bluetones, the Kooks and Belle & Sebastian. However, Recreation’s sound is really quite unique with big choruses and sweeping melodies together with vocals that have been compared to Chris Martin, Bono & Neil Diamond.
