Biography
Formed in Hampshire UK 2006, this five piece (originally four piece) band came together and wrote, recorded and released their first demo in June 2006. Since then they have played a countless amount of shows in the UK with bands including Cilice (nl), Tesseract, No Made Sense and Pure Negative. After many months of shows and writing the band started work on their Debut EP entitled 'Virtues', which was Self-Released in February 2009, along with a Promotional Music Video of the track 'Resistance'.
Although as busy as they are, they had many line up changes with bass players and second guitarists. In November 2007 the line up was finally complete with members Russ Weller(vocals), Alex Loader(guitar), Jon Hughes(guitar), Rob Houghton(bass) and Paul Roebuck(drums). Coming straight from the shadows of Portsmouth, with solid beats, thrashing guitars and crushing vocals. They are Akakios!
Their name taken from ancient Greek meaning "Innocent, Not Evil", combined with kakn (kake) meaning "evil", Akakios is a negative prefix. Showing that even though as evil as they may seem, they, are not!
Akakios's musical material, music videos, album art, and web designs are all created, produced and released by the band themselves.

Nelly
(07 Feb 2010 02:20 PM)
Hi I an Neil otherwise known as Nelly. I am a drummer but play a bit of bass and guitar if the feeling takes me. Currently not in a band. But I am a presenter on the UK's only internet Biker radio station. I am looking to promote unsigned bands on my Thursday night programme. THIS DOES NOT COST YOU. I intend to do it because I love music and have been where you guys are now. I know what it's like to try to get yourself heard. If any of you guys would like to hear your sounds on the radio, drop me a line. Believe it or not, bikers don’t just listen to Iron Maiden and Motorhead! Check out the website at www.bikerfm.co.uk and drop me a line through here if you think I can help you get your songs heard.
